Cezanne Inspired Apple Still Lifes (1st-2nd Grade)

Watercolor Animal Portraits (10th-12th Grade)

In this lesson, 10th-12th Grade students learned about contemporary Ukrainian artist and illustrator Nazar Stefanovic and explored drawing and painting terms and techniques such as animal portraiture, flat washes, graded washes, and dry brush painting. As a part of this exploration, students were taught how to draw and paint lifelike, yet expressive portraits of animals inspired by Stefanovic’s artwork using pencils and traditional watercolor paints.
